Fr. Martin M. Fonte, FI

Fr. Martin M. Fonte, FI is a priest and member of the religious institute of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. Born in Manila, Philippines, he finished his bachelor's degree major in Philosophy and minor in Education in San Carlos University in Cebu City. He pursued his studies in Sacred Theology in the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome where he also obtained Master in Spiritual Theology. He was ordained in July 30, 1994.

After having worked briefly with the staff of "Christ to the World" in Rome in the office of the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of Faith, he was assigned for a pastoral ministry in their community in New Bedford, MA. USA. There he was involved with the ministry of the Sacrament of Confession, spiritual direction, and spiritual assistant of the their lay associates, the Mission of the Immaculate Mediatrix Movement and the Franciscan Third Order of the Immaculate.

He traveled to different states in USA to give parish missions, retreats and conferences on Our Lady and spirituality. He was appointed Father Guardian for three and a half years in their community of New Bedford. During his stay in this friary he was asked to teach philosophy by his major superiors to the young clerics of his community.

Fr. Martin Mary is also responsible for some of the media apostolate in USA specifically in the printing of their publications by the Academy of the Immaculate. He has created various sites of their community for the English speaking: MaryMediatrix.com, MissioMariae.net, Ausmaria.com, Radio CorMariae and their sisters' website in USA.
